Brief Answer:
Do a urine pregnancy test, if positive then an ultrasound to be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thankyou for writing to us. I have gone through your question.
Pain associated with subsequent menstruation is not a side effect of emergency contraceptive pills ( unwanted 72). It can be due to various causes such as pelvic inflammation (infection in the genital organs), any associated pathology in the uterus (fibroid etc) or may be simple spasmodic dysmenorrhea,in which the pain is present on the first day of menstruation.
If she is having regular menstrual cycles, then it is very unlikely that she is pregnant. Since the period days are reduced (1-2 days as you have mentioned) compared to previous normal periods, there may be a very little chance of pregnancy as sometimes the patient is pregnant and gets periods on time for first few months after conception, but the periods are of shorter duration.
I would suggest your girlfriend to get a urine pregnancy test at home. If it is positive, then do get a ultrasound done to assess the gestational age (total duration of pregnancy).
If it is negative, then do consult an OBGYN specialist to get her properly examined, investigated and treated for the menstrual pain.

Brief Answer:
No pregnancy, get investigated for other causes of pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for responding. If the urine pregnancy test was negative in last two periods, then be assured that there is no pregnancy. The cause of the pain during periods may be one of those which I have mentioned in the previous answer. to
I would suggest your girlfriend to consult an OBGYN specialist to get examined and investigated especially for pelvic infection and fibroid in uterus. The treatment will be done according to the diagnosis. If no cause is found, then analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs can be given to relive the pain. The period flow will recover with time, as it is altered for few cycles after taking emergency contraceptive pill.

Brief Answer:
No need to worry, negligible chances of pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, I have gone through your question. There are more chances of genital infection or some uterine pathology if the pain occurs after doing work or lifting weight. If she is having regular menstrual cycle with good flow during periods, then there are negligible chances of pregnancy, as I have mentioned earlier.
Still she can repeat the urine pregnancy test at home after her periods are over, just to be doubly sure. I would suggest you both to not to worry for so much.

Wishing you good health.
