Hello,

I would rather suggest you to go with warm salt water gargles, they are good enough. And if the symptoms seem some what advanced then consider a course of antibiotics. If there is nasal congestion then take antihistaminics as well.

Drink warm water and have soups as you like.

Hope this helps. Please ask if there are doubts.Regards.

Thanks for follow up query.

I would suggest you to continue Aerius as antihistaminics till nose is congested. Generally you don't need them for more 3-4 days.

I personal don't recommend nasal sprays.

OK thanks a lot doctor for your help and the last question.

As you recommended me for sore throat warm salt water gargles, they are good enough. But in general just to know is it will give some more strong effect if we gonna add Iodine to that liquid?
And if in your practice you used ever Betadine solution for soar throat?

Thanks a lot in advance for your response,

Iodine and betadine can be used but in my experience they also cause some irritation of oral mucosa and tongue. And few of my patients got mouth ulcers or sensitive tongue.swallowed betadine also appear to act on good bowel bacteria. So generally I prefer to go by natural ways.

Thanks a lt doctor.

And I forgot to tell you also every evening I am having temperature 37 to 37.4 and already 5 days I am taking Nimesulide 2 times a day? Can I continue this and if so for how long? or should I substitute it with something else? because I think this low temperature is because of inflammation.

I would like to go with plain paracetamol. And since there is fever as well I would suggest to start course of antibiotics as well.

Yes but I have disbactery in my stomach and gastrit and when I am taking Anti-biotics then I need 1 month to recover from it's side effects so that's why I am always trying not to take anti-biotics if it's not really necessary and don't you agree to continue Nimesulide as in contrast of plain paracetamol it has anti-inflammation effect.

Thanks,

Nimesulide is banned in few countries. It doesn't offer any significant superiority over paracetamol in case of mild fever.

Oral antibiotics will atleast help to clear off the actual infection.Using betadine gargles will not clear off your throat infection but can wash off the intestinal bacterial flora. So in my views benefits of betadine are not as high as oral antibiotics.

To avoid gastritis you can add antacids.

Hope this answers your question.Regards.
