Question: My Mom had an egg size boil on her bottom, went to ER, where they took her to surgery, debreeded it. Stayed in hospital 4 days IV antibiotics, wet to dry dreesings, came home , on antibiotics for 7 days. Nurses coming in once a day to change dressing. Dr. visit this past Monday, changed to dry dressing. The wound is now dime size, with the bottom section still giving off moderate amounts of Green Flouresent. She tested positive for MRSA. I was concerned that it will close with her still having the MRSA. Is there anything Homopathic I can put on this to kill the MRSA?

Brief Answer:
MRSA is susceptible to Gentamicin, Bactrim and Tetracyclines

Detailed Answer:
Hi Ms. XXXXXXX

Welcome to Health care magic.

I understand your concern regarding your mother's wound.

MRSA is Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus which is resistant to antibiotics like penicillins and cephalosporins but it is susceptible to other broad spectrum antibiotics like Gentamicin, Bactrim, Amikacin, Tetracyclines and Vancomycin.

As your mother's wound is showing signs of healing, I suggest you get regular culture and sensitivity done for swabs from the wound.

This test will indicate the susceptibility pattern of the MRSA isolated and will also indicate the control of MRSA infection.

Regular dressing of wound is necessary for faster healing.

I hope I have cleared your doubts.

Please get back if any more queries.

Thanks.
