Brief Answer:
There are other methods of pain relief that have been proven effective

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I would insist you to undergo acupuncture. Scientific present day studies (randomized, double blind, placebo controlled - the most rigorous studies of the day) have generated definitive evidence that acupuncture is effective for pain relief at least in certain conditions. Studies have shown that acupuncture depresses the limbic system of our brain (the part responsible for dealing with pain) although the exact mechanism is still unknown. I am quite certain that you would see an improvement of your condition by using acupuncture. I would not suggest other similar methods like acupressure since there are not enough of modern studies to prove their clinically effectiveness.

Let me know if I could help further.
