Brief Answer:
Efficacy is questionable; diet control and exercise should be useful

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in Healthcaremagic.com.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

I understand your concern.
You, being a 23 year old girl, having height of 5 ft and weighing 55 kgs, have a BMI of around 23.6 which is within normal range. So, reduction in weight is not necessary.
But considering your wish to lose some weight, it is advisable to start diet control and regular exercise before going for any medication. For weight reduction, medicine alone is not sufficient. Regular exercise is very useful in these cases of reduction of minor weight.
Medohar and triphala guggulu are ayurvedic medicine widely known for reduction in weight. These being natural products are mostly devoid of any major side effects but their efficacy is questionable unless associated with regular exercise.
Exercise does not necessarily mean going to gym. You can do freehand exercises at home, go for brisk walking and jogging, do swimming and yoga which will help you enhance your metabolism. This is useful not only for reduction of weight but also betterment of your general health.
Alongwith, diet modification in form of avoiding fatty spicy food, taking lots of water and fluid, taking dietary fibers are very helpful.
You can consult a dietitian also for a diet chart which you can follow.
So I would suggest a combination of diet modification and exercise to start with. If you still do not get the desired results, you can shift to medications.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
You can try the following medicines

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
I understand your problem. But let me tell you that if you don't maintain a proper diet, medicine alone might not be very effective.
You can use FNS-25, Zerofat-A etc which are available in both XXXXXXX and capsule form and contains natural products and plant extracts etc and claim to be effective in weight reduction. Some of my patients have been benefitted too. However I always advise diet modification and exercise along with.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
