Brief Answer:
Take her to hospital

Detailed Answer:
HI

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

No take her to the hospital now. The description what you are giving is very much suggestive of Cellulitis.

Cellulitis is the infection of the skin and underlying tissue. It requires proper antibiotic treatment and sometimes even opening up of the skin to drain out pus . So don't waste time keeping her at home.

Also get a Tetanus shot for her .

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .

Regards.

Actually ...Ty but in the future. Hog nose snake have a mild venom that reacts like a bee sting . As the bite has happened within 30 min prior to my email, it was not cellulitis. It was an allergic response and Benadryl did the trick with Tylenol and Motrin for pain. Thanks though... But now you know about western hog nose. Thanks though. I appreciate the response being fairly fast
Sorry... Did not tell you the timing of the bite... That would have helped. Keep doing what you do. Even for a Nurse, good service at 0100 in the am.

Brief Answer:
Good to know

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for the information.

Good to know that she is better now . But the description do sound like cellulitis and cellullitis can spread rapidly due to venom effect.

But still I recommend a tetanus shot if she has not got in past 3 years.

Regards.
