Brief Answer:
antihistamine for mild to moderate cases

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

antihistamines are the best initial treatment option for allergic reactions. If the reaction is mild or moderate the antihistamine itself might suffice to contain the allergy. Otherwise more drugs might be required (corticosteroids). In severe cases with shortness of breath and/or hypotension immediate medical attention is required because management at home is not feasible without significant risk for the patient.

So if you've only got skin reactions without signs of other tissue involvement (like shortness of breath, lump in the throat, swollen lips, hypotension, etc) then an antihistamine would be very helpful. Otherwise you'd better contact your doctor as soon as possible.

I hope it helps1!
Kind Regards!
