Question: I am on Effexor, started last year. Have been on Haldol, Resperidone for 8 years. I am on vitamin d, fish oil, multi cap, magnesium, ibs acidophilus, regular acidophilus, b12 (I felt a lot better when I took it the times a day before meals). I started the supplements on November of last year. I am having problems with energy, in my mind and body. I felt a whole lot better starting the supplements and I used them to get my energy and focus up. My antidepressant was working for 8 months till I felt sick again - I had thought it was constipation - I cleared up the problem and eventually switched from laxatives to prune juice. I then took a test and my blood count is down my nutritionist told me I should take the b12s a day before meals. I felt a whole hell of allot happier but now I was told to do that for a couple of weeks more I am down to one and feel sick. I don't know what the hell is wrong with me.

Brief Answer:
Mention about blood cells

Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.

You have not mentioned, which blood cells are less. If your hemoglobin or Red blood cells (RBC) is less, then it would gradually improve with taking supplement. It could be due to effexor. Effexor could lead to decrease in Red blood cells, but it is very rare side effects. You can carry on with supplement or shift to another antidepressant. That would help. If WBCs are less, then it could be due to risperidone or haloperidol. But you have been on these drugs for last 8 years and can't stop them. Better to consult your psychiatrist for further help.

In case, you need further help, you can ask.
