Question: I have meniere's disease and a shunt was implanted which did away with my symptoms. However, when I am flat on the ground and my head is not elevated at all ( like doing crucnches) within minutes I become nauseous to the point of vomiting

I am so sorry to hear about this recurrence of symptoms when lying flat. The main cause of this should be a change in the fluid dynamics of the middle ear when you lay flat. It is important that you avoid such positions which elicit symptoms. It is most preferable to prevent than further instituting measures to address the nausea and vomiting. In all, avoid this position and know symptoms are caused by a change in the fluid dynamics in the ear canals.
