Suggest Treatment For Vomiting And Diarrhea
Question: I have been sick for 9 days! I started with vomiting and diarrhea x1 day next day Nausea and diarrhea , 3rd and 4 the days it settled in my back I truly could not move! Started medrol dos PAC. By Sunday I was sick again with chills fever body aches headaches! Stopped the dos PAC and now the chills and sweats are bad!

Vomiting and diarrhea are suggestive for possible viral infection (gastroenteritis).

- keep well hydrated: drink more fluids, especially water with oral rehydration salt
- if diarrhea persists, should take OTC tasectan or pepto bismol
- have light meals: yogurt, chicken soups, etc.
- continue taking OTC anti-inflammatory/pain reliever drugs
- take OTC probiotics to optimize intestinal flora
- if no improvement with a couple of days, should consult with your doctor as you might need prescription medicines (e.g. antibiotics like Metronidazole, etc.)
With regards to using Medrol dosepak, it is a steroid drug and you need prescription for that. Flexeril is a muscle-relaxant drug for which you need prescription too.
I believe, you have been prescribed these drugs for arthritis problems as you are not mentioning the reason you take them. When did you start to take them: is it before the symptoms appeared or after?
