Brief Answer:
it is urinary infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

There is nothing like puc cell in urine. There are pus cells in urine. I assume there must be some mistake in typing.

Pus cells that too 45 to 50 per hpf means you are suffering from urinary tract infection.

For this you need to get your urine culture done to know which antibiotic you are to be given . This report takes 3 to 4 days to come. Meanwhile after giving sample of urine start on antibiotic like nitrofurontoin after consulting your doctor till your culture report comes. Later it will be changed accordingly.

Also drink more of water , increase intake of vit c by taking lemon, amla juice .

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for your answer. Is this something to be really worried about? I dint know how one will get this infection. I had post lunch plasma/glucose test done couple of days ago. It showed me the count 178. What does this mean and is it the cause of infection? How much time it takes to get rid of this infection? Does this infection cause any problem for couple who are planning for kids?

Also please let me know thyroid(count 5.25) problem in female cause any problems during pregnancy like early pregnancy failure etc? Waiting for you reply..

Brief Answer:
no need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

No need to worry about the infection. It is common. Just take precautions like drink more water, urinate when you have the urge, don't hold for longer time.

The causes are many like transfer from your partner, poor hygiene cause germ to get trapped in foreskin, renal or ureteric stone etc.

Your post lunch glucose level is within normal range. It is not the cause. Approximately it takes 10 to 14 days for infection to clear.

Urinary infection may affect male fertility. But for this you need to get semen analysis done. If pus cells are there in that then you need to postpone child plan till it clears. If no pus cells found then no need to worry.

Thyroid problem in female do cause pregnancy loss and inability to conceive and ovulate. It is suggested to get the thyroid level normal and then plan for pregnancy. To comment on your wife thyroid status I wish to know the value which you have give is of what? I mean thyroid profile contain T3, T4 and TSH level. Please let me know .

Hi XXXXXXX

Yes it is TSH result 5.25. Recently my wife had early pregnancy failure after 2.5 months. So worried what really caused the problem. US Scan reported regressing yolk sac. So both the problems caused the pregnancy failure?

Brief Answer:
high tsh could be a cause

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

High Tsh is a cause of early pregnancy loss. One more most common cause is abnormal embryo. These cause regression of sac.

I suggest your wife to take thyroid supplement and bring tsh down to middle of reference range(0.5 to 4.5mIU/L) and then plan for pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.

Brief Answer:
kidney test not needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

As such at your age urinary infection doesn't affect kidney function much. To be on safer side you may get blood urea and serum creatinine levels. If they are normal then kidney is functioning normal.

Yes you may start antibiotic nitrofurontoin 100 mg daily twice for 7 days.It is prescription drug and you need to consult a local doctor to get the prescription. Along with that drink more of water.

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.
