Hello

It looks like your brother is suffering from upper respiratory tract infection which will require treatment
Here is how you should go about it

1. Salt water gargling three times daily will help subside the throat pain
2. Tab Levocetrizine twice a day will bring down the inflammation of the throat
3. I usually start Tab Amox with clavulanate three times a day
4. Make sure all he eats and drinks are warm. Avoid cold food and beverages

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back, I am sorry for the short delay in my reply. I was on call at my hospital.

Swine flu vaccine can be taken and it has proven to be effective. However I have seen patients who have acquired swine flu even after immunization. Here is what you should do

1. Best way to avoid swine flu is having clean hands
2. Avoid exposure to people with H1N1
3. Get the vaccination done for entire family

Sir
I accept your ans. only fear is lot of death. So i feel more scared. Tough to differentiate swineflu patient nd flu patent. If v vaccinate v can come out of critical positions .

Brief Answer:
Can try prophylaxis

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back

If you are seeing a lot of deaths due to H1N1 and also you think you might have been exposed to H1n1 then I suggest you be on prophylactic treatment with Oseltamivir 75 mg once daily followed by immunization for h1n1.
It is impossible to clinically differentiate normal flu with swine flu, I think getting immunized is a very good option for you.

Please also follow the other precautions I had mentioned earlier
