Brief Answer:
Cutaneous Manifestations Of HCV. LP and/or Vasculitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX XXXXXXX !

Thank you for asking. I read your question and i understand your concern. Ulcers erupting on forearm are the cutaneous manifestation of hepatitis C and is very common sequelae. Most of the ulcers erupting on arm are due to lichen planus, dermatitis, maculopapular eruptions, cryoglobulinemic vasculitis leading to ulcers.

nutshell, permanent resolution of cutaneous manifestations solely depend on reduction of viral load and clearing of Hep C virus.

Treatment of patients with extrahepatic dermatologic manifestations of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is the same as that of HCV infective state and the customary treatments of the individual conditions. Many, if not all, of the dermatologic manifestations disappear when appropriate HCV treatment or viral clearance occurs. HCV is the main cause of mixed cryoglobulinemia vasculitis, which should be treated. Malignant conditions may even disappear with effective therapy for the underlying chronic hepatitis C infection.

Currently, medical treatment of patients with HCV infection consists of interferon and ribavirin therapy. Medical therapy for patients with individual extrahepatic dermatologic manifestations of HCV infection depends on the condition.

Stay in touch with your dermatologist and gastroenterologist for further management.
