Brief Answer:
Lung function tests and chest x ray can help .

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

These symptoms arise suspicion of heart or lung disorders.Asthma very much presents like this.

Pulmonary/lung function tests and chest xray can help to know if there is acute exacerbation of asthma. Also it will help to know if there is consolidation or lung infiltrates.

Since there is chest pain I would suggest to get precautionary EKG done. This will help rule out any heart related issue.

So ideal next step would be to get investigations done to know current status, so that changes can be made in current treatment.

Hope this helps. Please ask if there are doubts.Regards.
