Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation On The Arms And Chest Pain

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Nov 2016
Question: Yesterday I was drinking and stupidly snorted a small line of cocaine and have since last night been having a burning sensation in my chest that keeps coming off on but has stayed away for more than ten minutes. This is only the second time I've done the drug. I do tend to be overly paranoid about something being seriously wrong. I've had occasional tingling in my arms but I haven't had a crushing chest pain or anything. It's been about 20 hours since I took the drug. Is this more likely to be heart burn or should I be worried I'm having a heart attack?

Brief Answer:
Get an ekg done to rule out any possibility. Its safer that way

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
Alcohol and cocaine is a bad combination .
cocaine can increase your blood pressure and send your pulse racing due to increased release of adrenaline and other hormone s in the circulation . Alcohol numbs you .
22 is a very young age to have an heart attack even with cocaine . Though its not unknown. The symptoms you describe can occur in both heart burn or heart issuea However because of the peristance of pain , it's wiser to get just an ekg done . Go to nearest hospital casualty and tell them to do it for you . Also get your blood presure checkled .
If normal , Take neksium 40 mg twice a day ( it's antacid ) , hydration and get some good sleep .
Let me know if anything needed

Okay I got an ekg and blood pressure done both came back normal along with chest X-ray. They gave me a GI cocktail but I still have some tightness and burning (took medicine about 30 minutes ago). If those things came back normal should I be concerned about a stroke?

Brief Answer:
It will take a day or two for symptoms to resolve

Detailed Answer:
No ,
If everything basic is normal , You need not worry .
No, stroke risk not high as blood pressure is normal. As you must have snorted, GI drip will not do much help .
The symptoms would subside in 24 to 48 hours as you said your body is not used to the drug , Maintain Good hydration , 2- 3 banana today and light food .
Where are you located?
As a well wisher since you are young , Don't repeat these stupid acts again . It is never going to help you.

The burning is still there in the left side of my chest now and I am having pressure in my ears. I will not ever repeat these acts again. Is my paranoia making things worse? I haven't gone to get the Pepcid that was prescribed to me yet. I was able to get some sleep last night but this morning the pain is as bad as it was before. Do I need to get checked again or just get the medicine?

Brief Answer:
Get the medicine and relax , if symptoms persist or increases get checked a

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
Please font get anxious , it would exaberte your symptoms and make it worse . Anxiety will take you on a negative trip because of cocaine and make you more paranoid .
As I had mentioned in my 1st reply take an antacid ( pepcid is an antacid ) , However I would prefer pantoprazole 40 mg or esomeprazole 40 mg ( Generic content ) whichever is available. The symptoms of bring would be because of alcohol per say .
The reason for stroke is higher blood pressure and as your pressure during the hospital visit was normal . You shouldn't be tensed now . As I said it would take a day or two to subside , So if in terms percentage there in decrease in the symptoms, That's a good sign .
Also as you haven't taken any medication , The resolution is taking its own sweet time .

There are many reasons for the symptoms after cocaine but a normal ecg and an clinical examination by your doctors effectively rules out nearly all of them .
My enlisting them would create unnecessary anxiety.
You would do fine
You can upload the finding and investigationas I can review them for you .
