Question: Hello doctor, lately since I've been back at school, i feel disconnected. It is my third year, im just 19, and i just don't feel myself. I don't have the same personality i feel like. I notice my hands has been shaking a lot lately, its harder to focus, I'm not as quick witted. I look at myself and i just don't like the person i am. And when it comes to sex, I've been unable to get an erection multiple times and its ruining my relationship with a girl that is the only thing that makes me happy. Which has to be the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me. I'm only 19, that shouldn't even be a thing. She makes me happy and going out with friends, alcohol just kinda helps to make me forget about everything. I don't know whats wrong with me doctor, but I'm scared and on top of that I'm to scared to go talk to anyone about this. This is the first time I've said anything about this to anyone. I don't know, I just felt this would help.

Brief Answer:
Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

What you are describing is consistent with potential generalized anxiety disorder. I would recommend the following treatment to you: either visit a psychiatrist to consider an antidepressant medication such as Escitalopram, and/or find a therapist for cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I would expect either or a combination of these approaches to help you feel more like yourself.
