Question: I have developed an extension of the muscle down the center of my stomach.
I also have a hernia.
Is this recti?
Should I be concerned. My stomach is bloated also

It sounds like you may have an umbilical hernia.

Detailed Answer:
If the bulging is in the center of your abdomen, it may be an umbilical hernia.

Umbilical hernias are not an emergency situation unless you also have:
-nausea, vomiting, or bowel obstruction
-there is a great deal of pain
-the area cannot be pushed in manually, even momentarily

You can support the herniated area with a truss, corset, or compression dressing. Or you can see a general surgeon about repairing it (or for consultation and to follow it).
