Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Raynaud's Disease

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Jan 2017
Question: I'm a 66 yr female, not taking any medications. My blood pressure tends to be on the low side. Recently I've been diagnosed with reflux in both my legs especially my left leg. My concern now is that my left hand and palm have turned a gray color; not swollen or painful. This has been going on for about two and a half weeks. For the last 3-4 yrs I've complained that my pinkie and ring finger feel a little numb, mostly my pinkie. I've also been experiencing cramps in my fingers, mostly my index and thumb. Any suggestions what might cause these symptoms?

Brief Answer:
Symptoms are suggestive of Raynaud's disease.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam, Hi & Welcome.
Thanks for approaching HCM for your concerns.
I have gone through your history diligently and I am of the opinion that you seem to be suffering from a condition called Raynaud's disease.

Raynaud phenomenon manifests as recurrent vasospasm of the fingers and toes and usually occurs in response to stress or cold exposure.

Its exact cause is not known. However, it can occur in certain conditions like
certain autoimmune disorders and due to medications like beta-blockers.

I need more information so as to analyze your condition properly like

1. For how long you have been suffering from this problem?
2. Is it aggravated on exposure to cold?
3. Can you please elaborate the problem of "reflux in both the legs"?
4. What type of medications you have been taking for your high BP?
5. Apart from having high BP, do you have any associated medical illness like thyroid problem or joints problem?

Awaiting your reply.
Best wishes.
