Brief Answer:
Get your thyroid levels checked

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I do not suppose that you need to bother about the multiple sexual exposures that you had once upon a time. If neither you nor your wife are in any type of open sexual relationship you need not repeat any tests about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). I do not suppose that you need to worry about STDs.

I would insist both of you to get your thyroid profile checked since low thyroid levels could be associated with low energy levels. Regarding the joint pains, I would insist both of you to try acupuncture. It has proven benefits in certain kinds of arthritis. Your back pain could be due to spondylosis or could be due to muscle spasm, thus causing the pain. Hot compress should provide relief. The vicious cycle of pain and spasm needs to be broken and I would insist you to take paracetamol or acetaminophen 500 mg two tablets together twice or thrice daily for next 3 days. This should ease the problem and make it go away. If it does not, I would insist you to get a X Ray of Lumbosacral spine (AP and lateral) done and to see a physical therapist with the reports. Based on the findings he would be able to demonstrate to you proper exercises that should provide relief.

Please mention how long the enlarged lymph nodes have been there. Also mention if they are tender, whether they are growing in size, whether they are inflamed, and whether there seems to be any localized infection in proximity.

The E.histolytica needs to be treated with drugs like metronidazole. It has no association with STDs.

Let me know and I would guide you accordingly.

Brief Answer:
Get your urine tested

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. The iliac lymph nodes are likely to have been enlarged due to some local infection. It could be some skin infection or some infection like E.histolytica.
It is advisable to get your urine routine microscopy and culture sensitivity done. The mentioned presentation could be due to an urinary tract infection.
A clinical examination is also essential and I would insist you to visit a doctor for the same.
Not sure about the rashes on your glans penis. It could be due to a fungal infection. I would need you to confirm.

Brief Answer:
HSV does not need to be treated

Detailed Answer:
I am glad that you find my words to be reassuring. Let me tell you that once you get infected with herpes viruses (including HSV 1 and 2) the virus lies dormant in the nerve endings of that region till the end of your life. So, it is not unusual for HSV 1 and 2 to test positive. It is unlikely to cause lymph node swelling. It does not call for treatment.

Weakness is entirely unrelated.
