Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Side Of The Penis

Posted on Mon, 16 Jan 2017
Question: I'm 31 years old and I'm convinced I have a STI...I have discharge and pain when ruminating plus a little blood sometimes at the end of my urine stream. I also have a small very soft swollen side of my penis. I am circumsized. The swollen part is only on 1 side and right where the foreskin area would be. I'm nor alarmed by the swollen side..is this normal with a uti or sti infection?

Brief Answer:
More likely STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Considering your symptoms, this is more likely to be STD. most common urinary stones and uroinfection would not manifest with swelling and discharge. amoxicillin is good for uti but not a good option for STD,and azytromicin or doxiciclin would be better option. however,it is not advisable to take it without testing so you should do STD test especially if there was recent unprotected sexual intercourse. Wish you good health. Regards

Thank you very much for your response. I have made an appointment with my doctor but won't be able to get to him until after the holiday. I unfourtantly had an STD in the past.. (chlamydia) and did not get the swelling I have now. I do not remember what I was prescribed as it was over a decade ago. Is there any idea what STD could possibly cause the swelling? The area is on one side more noticeable to the side and bottom...it is soft..not really sore or tender at all. Does not go all the way around just mainly on the right side.

Brief Answer:
Hi

Detailed Answer:
It would be easier if you post a photo but for example, gonorrhea or herpes may go with swelling and it may also be caused by irritation or allergic reaction. it would be good to do test as soon as possible to start treatment soon.
