Brief Answer:
Swelling ankles

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You have just noticed swelling of your feet and ankles. This can be from various reasons. The most common is just dependent edema or gravity pulling fluid into your legs. If you have been sitting or standing still longer than usual it can cause the swelling and if you are in a hot climate that will further worsen the swelling. Another cause is hypothyroidism where your thyroid gland is not making enough thyroid hormone and this reduces your bodies metabolism and causes swelling in tissues with the ankle being the first place to manifest. Third is medications. There are several medications for diabetes and hypertension that cause leg swelling. So a list of your current medication would be of a benefit for me to see if they are the cause. Then lastly is could be a circulation problem if the swelling is only on one ankle or leg. If it is on both sides then this is less likely.

I hope this helps. Please respond with a list of medications and your current state of health.
