Brief Answer:
Either incomplete treatment or chlamydial infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query .
You have urethritis and epididymo-orchitis probably due to gonorrhea. So probably your treatment was not adequate. Another possibility is a chlamydial infection.
You should see a venerologist and have yourself tested and treated again.

So you can cure gonorrhea with swelling how long does it take to go away!
doctor
Answered by Dr. Noble Zachariah (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Should go away in a few days.

Detailed Answer:
Yes . The swelling is due to the local infection and inflammation by the bacteria. Once it is treated with effective antibiotics and antiinflammatory medicines, it would subside in a few days. You should be your usual self within a week.

Can they give you a prescription thru a local clinic that you don't pay anything or do you have to go to the hospital?
If I have epididymo or orchid how is that treated?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Noble Zachariah (3 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Epididymo-orchitis will settle with effective treatment for gonorrhea

Detailed Answer:
The clinic where you had gonorrhea treated should be able to treat you. If you did not have injection ceftriaxone, it would be the best for you. If the same is not available in your local clinic your doctor may refer you to the hospital.
The epididymo-orchitis would settle with effective treatment for gonorrhea and usually no separate treatment is required.

I have swelling but no pain is it easy to treat for gonorrhea and both testicles swelled is that normal for both to swell
Are there any home products to reduce swelling
doctor
Answered by Dr. Noble Zachariah (8 hours later)
Brief Answer:
I would see a venerologist if I were you.

Detailed Answer:
You don't have pain as it was treatment but cure is incomplete.
The other possibility I raised earlier of a non gonococcal infection like chlamydial has also got to be considered. It is important that you see a doctor.
Home remedy may bring some relief but not a cure by itself. Magnesium sulphate glycerine paste may help to reduce the swelling.

How do they test for gonorrhea and will I have to be in the hospital if balls are swelled and tender?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Noble Zachariah (9 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Tests are as follows.

Detailed Answer:
The first and simplest test is to take a swab from your urethra and examine it under the microscope after staining the specimen and also do a culture for the organism.
Other tests that can be done are a PCR ( Polymerase Chain Reaction ) and antigen antibody reaction through immunochromatographic strip test (IST) .
You don't have to be admitted for these tests which are done as out patient.
You may require to take injections and if these are done as out patient, you don't have to sleep in the hospital.
