default
Posted on Wed, 6 May 2015
Question: I Have been complaining with my big toe for the past 2/3 years. its trobbing all the time. its not swollen or red. The toe and the nail is perfect to look at. I cannot wear any tight fitting shoes or high heel shoes - due to the pressure. it sometimes can be painful at night as I lye in bed. I am always very carefull that I don't bang it off anything or let anything fall on it.
MY big toe is always very sore around both side of the nail and the tip/front when you squeeze it - when you put any pressure on it. I really need to know what I can do to fix this.

Brief Answer:
There is possibility of gout leading to toe pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I have studied your case,
There is possibility of gout leading to toe pain.
In gout there is accumulation of uric acid crystals in joint mainly foot. This leads to swelling and redness in foot.
I will advise to do blood inv like complete blood count ,uric acid level, X ray foot and ankle.

If uric acid is raised and gout is confirmed you need to take medication and diet restriction.
Till time take analgesic and neurotropic like methylcobalamine.
Another possibility of toe deformity leading to throbbing.
I will advise clinical examination and further investigation.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
