Brief Answer:
Spinal cord stimulation is a good possibility.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is a good possible symptoms treatment in your case, since you are not a candidate to surgery and you passed the trial period successfully.

Risks of stimulator insertion include those related to surgery ( allergic reaction, infection, fluid leak, worsened pain ), and those related to device malfunction (stimulator affects the wrong location, works intermittently, the lead may be damaged, overstimulation).

Hope you found the answer helpful.

I remain at your disposal for further questions and clarifications.

Take care.

Have there been complaints, i.e. lawsuits, etc. for XXXXXXX Scientific's system that you know of?

Also are there any other medications that would give me more (longer time) pain
relief?

I used to be a very active person before my back pain became a deterrent to my daily activities, much less grandsons' soccer games, horseback riding ( just a little on our farm ( on a retired horse and no jumping! (my orthopedic's orders).

Brief Answer:
Fentanyl patch is a possibility.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

I'm not familiar with complaints about Boston's scientific system, because I live and work in Europe.

About other possible treatments, in my opinion, fentanyl patch is one of the possible treatment ways that may result in longer pain control.

Since it is a prescription drug, you should discuss with your Doctor about its use.

About physical activities, in general those that worsen your symptoms should be restricted, those that relieve your symptoms should be amplified.

Hope I helped you.

Best regards.
