Suggest Treatment For Spinal Stenosis
Question: I have spinal stenosis and disc issues in my lumar spine. It is primarily sciatic (not back itself) pain that effects primarily the right buttocks and right leg radiating pain. It effects the left a little.It is quite severe at times. I can walk ok, sitting is not a problem, but bending or twisting at the waist or getting up from sleeping in the morning is really painful in the sciatic nerve.
I am scheduled to get an epidural steroid injection in 2 weeks in the lumbar spine and I recalled now that about 15 years ago, I had a CT scan on my abdomen and I had what the doctor said was a reaction to the ct scan XXXXXXX (contrast)...I had bumps on my arm and itching (no other symptoms). I of course will tell the doctor but I need to ask you:
Can the doctor still give me the injection AND still have a chance for success if I cant take the contrast dye???

Should i tell the anesthesiologist who will give the injection about this so maybe she can test me ahead of time for any reaction?? Do they do that ahead of time?? Id like to be sure i get the best otcome??u
