As a neurologist, I can tell you that the use of trazodone is not looked at favorably for several medical reasons such as the phenomenon where many people experience a tolerance to the drug after a short period of time which then, results in having to raise the dose to get the same effect.

I told you that as a neurologist there are at least several reasons why this medication fails to excite us to prescribe it.....unfortunately, internists, GP's, and FP's do happen to prescribe it in large numbers and that's not likely to change in the very near future.
