Most of the wide variety of inhalers I've been on seem to to have helped. Then I was introduced to BREO. This inhaled worked so well for me. However I have unable to get any samples. For the week I have been bring up alot of Green, very thick phlegm up. Also been coughing an awful lot and my chest hurts. At times I get SOB. This worries me but I don't know what to do. I have no insurance and UNaffordable care it doesn't help us out. We can't afford the premiom. So I would like your opinion as to what you think I have going on and what will happen if left untreated......thank you

Brief Answer:
you are having infective exacerbation mostly.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Since you are having green, thick mucus with cough and shortness of breath, in my opinion you are having infection mostly.
And infection is the most common cause for worsening of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
And all your symptoms are suggestive of infection only.
So better to get done chest x ray and PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out this.
If you left this untreated following are the possibilities.
1. Untreated infection mostly spread and infect other lobes of lung and cause severe pneumonia and septicemia.
2. Rarely it may resolve by its own.
3. May turn into chronic colonization and persistent infection.
I can understand your financial condition, but better to start appropriate treatment with prescription antibiotics at the earliest. You can find local 'Cash Only' doctors who discounts or even clinics managed by nurse practitioners. Try to find about them in your area and seek appropriate care.

Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
