Question: Hi, I sprained my right arm bicep, about 3 months age. I was pulling some glued carpeting up and felt shoulder and arm pain. Last week my doctor gave me a cortozone shot for my shoulder. It has helped tremendously. Now my right arm bicep gives me shooting pain if I lift anything. no pain when not lifting.
no swelling. I have been taking Aleve, but it doesn't help. What should I do?

Brief Answer:
Oral muscle relaxant will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the biceps on working is due to a muscle spasm or a small muscle tear. This needs proper rest to the muscle for healing. Since you are having a pain now, you need an oral muscle relaxant in addition to the pain killer. Doing a hot compress and applying local analgesic gel in the area will also help.
I hope this answers your query.
