Posted on Wed, 28 Dec 2016
Question: Yes, Hi I am 57, male and in good health. No underlying health conditions. I have been experiencing a moderate to severe sore throat for 4 days without any of the usual symptoms that accompany a sore throat, No fever, no cold symptoms, no pustules on my throat etc,,,, Is it just a viral infection to let run its course? When/if should I go to see a doctor?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
I would only suggest saline gargling, drinking sips of hot water

Detailed Answer:
Hi, That is a good question.

I would only suggest saline gargling, drinking sips of hot water through the day and taking only paracetamol if needed.

You can take a good B complex with vitamin C.
You may need to see a doctor if there is consistent fever above 101*F, severe congestion or breathlessness.

Feel free to ask if there's any further queries
