Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Urethra And Lower Abdomen

default
Posted on Wed, 10 Feb 2016
Question: So just two days ago I got this weird pain in my penis urethra but more in the beginning of the penis rather than the tip. It felt like a hard pinch. Then my lower abdominal began to hurt and so did my right side abdominal but mild. When I pee it doesn't hurt , it hurts if I push it out . I also had this problem in the past but it would happen once in a blue moon , or if I would drink a lot of dark soda! It would be a small discomfort feeling and it would go away. Now it's been two days and it still painful to pee! I just took an STD test for all STDs and came out negative for all of them ! Not sure what this can be. I took the test Sunday I got my results Thursday and right after is when I got the pain

Brief Answer:
Could be due to prostatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have pain and discomfort at the base of the penis and lower abdomen since two days.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have any other symptoms like frequency, urgency .etc ?
2) Do you have painful ejaculation?
3) Did you have unprotected sex very recently ?
4) Do you have urethral discharge ?

The symptoms that you have could be due to infection of the prostate (Prostatitis).

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Culture of a urethral discharge obtained after prostatic massage .

In the mean while take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefixime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily .

Ensure to rink more water .

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you

Hello Doctor

Yes I do have this frequent urgency to pee

I do not have any discharge

Last time I had sex was last Friday with my girl friend and yeah it was unprotected . She's been my girl for 3 years , she's pregnant too and good on her side . I didn't have any pain last Friday after sex .
Also I like to mention I had alcohol poisoning years ago and had a catheter inside my penis. The pain feels similar to that when they take it off. And like it said it happen usually after dark soda drinks & now it's been hurting for 2 days

Thank you Doc I appreciate your help

Brief Answer:
Need to rule out Stricture of urethra (Narrowing of urethra)

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up and highlighting new fact of being catheterized in past .

Looking at the history of being catheterized in past your symptoms could be due to narrowing of urethral passage ( Stricture of Urethra) which is one of the commonest sequele of catheterization that presents after few years with obstructive urinary symptoms .

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical assessment and get following basic tests done to help to establish diagnosis
1) Radiological test called Retrograde Cystourethrogram (RGU)
2) Endoscopic examination of urethra and bladder (Cystoscopy)

Further treatment will be decided by him based on result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Thanks and Regards.
