Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Hand
Question: My husband just came in from garage holding his arm saying it popped across his forarm all the way up to his shoulder it is very painful he was not lifting anything heavy just pulling on 2x4....he is in a lot of pain...should I take him to emergency room?

Welcome to HCM. Sorry for the injury. Your husband may have sprained it in addition to a dislocation and relocation back into the socket, he will probably be alright and a sling may be all that is prescribed anatomically, however, I suspect that later tonight after all the endorphins and adrenaline have worn off, the pain will get unbearable and it will be 2am, yes that will not be fun for either of, you, so I would go now get it Xrayed and get some pain medications.
