acute urticaria...some allergic reaction.

Hello,Thanks for writing to health care magic.

I can understand your concern.

Sudden rash is known as acute urticaria. It can be due to some allergy like insect bite, drug reaction, food allergy etc.

It will be important for you to find out any cause related.

You can apply calamine lotion on rash and take tab.avil two to three times daily till rash subsides.

If still no response you may need a steroid shot for which you need to consult your doctor.

I hope this will help you.Take care.

It was more like a deep red flush all over. The tingling in my hands arms and face also bothered me. I did take a Benadryl to be on safe side and applied ice packs. Everything did go away in about 30 min afterwards. Do you feel this could also be hormonal? I've never had this happen to me.

Brief Answer:
Rash is not hormonal.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,Thanks for follow up.

I do not think this can be hormonal. There are two reasons for this.

1.Hormonal changes occur in women who around menopause.Average age for menopause is 45 plus.

2.Most of hormonal changes produce hot flush only and no redness.

Fading of rash after taking benadryl and ice packs support to allergic origin of rash.

Hope this will help you.Take care.
