Question: Some nights I wake up feeling like I am trembling and like my heart is racing. Sometimes I gasp upon waking up. this can happen twice that nignt . Then I sit up for awhile watch TV and go back to sleep normally. What can cause this? The trembling doesn't last long. I think I am not actually trembling to the point others can see it . Only I feel it while I feel I usually just sit until I feel better.

Brief Answer:
A feature of anxiety disorder.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your query and understand your concerns.

Waking up and trembling is mainly a concern related to anxiety disorder, or bad dreams.

It is not a common feature of any neurological disorder, so, in my opinion, you shouldn't worry much more than necessary about it.

If the concerns you describe happen more often and start to interfere with your sleeping, you should consider consulting a Psychologist and discuss your concerns.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
