Suggest Treatment For Severe Hair Fall
Question: I am suffering from hair loss from two years. I have diseases like IBS depression and thyroid now baldness have come on middle circle. I am using hair XXXXXXX to color my hair from many and now I am using minidioxidil oil mintop 2% of Dr XXXXXXX company. My doctor has prescribed me some medicine including shelcal 500 my mvb follicles. Please help me what should I do for cure.

I have gone through your query and I have noted down your concern.
You seem to have androgenetic alopecia which is characterised by hair loss and thinning from the center part of scalp i.e front, mid and vertex of scalp.
Chronic diseases like IBS and thyroid are also common causes of hair loss (telogen effluvium) and though unrelated add up to the degree of hair loss and unmasking of androgenetic alopecia.
There may also be recession and widening and deepening of angles of anterior hair line in males.
There is commonly a positive family history of early hairloss and baldness in other family members e.g father, brother, maternal or paternal uncles and cousins.
Minoxidil solution and finasteride tablets are approved remedies for androgenetic alopecia in males. However the strength of minoxidil that is recommended for use in males is 5% rather than 2%. It should be applied twice daily at scalp skin, starting from the center of scalp and gradually moving outwards.
Oral finasteride tablets are also approved for androgenetic alopecia in males.
Goal of medical treatment is to either arrest Or slow down further progression of hair loss and therefore earlier the therapy is initiated and the longer it is continued, better are the long term results.
In addition to these a ketoconazole based shampoo e.g Nizral 2% shampoo, also exerts a local antiandrogenetic affect in this type of alopecia. It can be used either daily or on every alternate days.
Shelcal is calcium carbonate and as such it has no evidence or role in androgenetic hair loss in males.
