Suggest Treatment For Severe Exhaustion While On Lupron Shots
Question: I have taken 5 Lupron shots to keep psa down over the past 1 1/2 yrs and has kept it down to 1.0 a male age 66 very active and went to run today a fell face first, not normal, feel tiered and the last shot was late Nov 2016 have shots every 4 months . and have lost my strength in arms and legs, Is this a result of these shots and will the shot make me feel week or do I have something else I need to look into, I do take 10 mg of metformin and a glipizide 5mg twice pr day for sugar. I feel exhausted after the Lupron shot . Pleas help !Thanks XXXX

I can understand your concern. Weakness and tiredness are side effects of Lupron. Leuprolide works by reducing the amount of testosterone that the body makes.
The low levels of testosterone will cause muscle weakness, loss of libido, depression ect.
Anyway, if you have weakness of the arms and legs or fainting you should tell to your treating physician. If the blood sugar is within the normal ranges with the actual treatment ( metformie and glipizid) than the symptoms are due to lupron. But be careful because glipizid may cause hypoglycemia or low blood sugar levels while raising the dose.
Always check the blood sugar before running and during it if you have symptoms of low blood sugar and keep carbohydrate enriched juice or chocolate with you.
