Brief Answer:
GERD post lap band surgery

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are having reflux post lap band. I have a few suggestions to help reduce your symptoms. 1st elevate the head of the bed by 3 inches. This will help keep food down by gravity alone. 2nd take the lansoprazole in the morning on an empty stomach and then eat 30-60 minutes later. This is the best way to use lansoprozole. If you take it between meals make sure you have an empty stomach and that you eat 30-60 minutes otherwise the medication is useless. 3rd take zantac twice daily and you can still use antacids like tums in between. 4. Drink plenty of fluids with your meals. Avoid meals of foods like hamburger as they end to bunch up near the lap band, Breads and potatoes seem to swell and can block the opening

These are some suggestions that my prior patient's have tried when they have similar problems.
