Brief Answer:
Medications suggested.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
I can understand your problem.
You can take Meftal spas three times a day for 3 days during your periods to reduce the pain.
Cyclopam or Buscopan can also be taken.
Taking a hot water bottle to bed will also help.
White discharge is common, unless it is foul smelling, and you have itching or redness .
Do you have these symptoms ?
If pain is not controlled by The medications, you should have a check up by a Gynecologist and an ultrasound scan of the uterus and ovaries.
All the best.
PLease feel free to discuss further.

Hi..

Thanks for the info Doctor.. I am little bit nervous in taking medicines during my menstrual cycle. Its because I always think whether the medications will create problems in future or not?

And the other thing is this White discharge is normal, its odourless but the main problem is that it leaves yellowish or whitish stains on my intimate wear. Thats annoying! Sometimes it comes out very thick also.. Do I need medication for that?

Regards

Hello again.
Taking the medications only for the few days when you have pain will not create any long term problems in future for you.
Please do not worry about that.
During certain days of the menstrual cycle, the whitish vaginal discharge maybe thick and clumpy and may stain your underwear.
This is normal during certain days of the month.
You do not need any medication if it is odourless, and there is no pain or itching, or redness.
SO do not worry about it.

Hi...

Thankyou again!!

I want your advice, if the white discharge occurs very thick and it stains(yellowish n whitish) my undergarment in normal days other than the menstrual cycle. What will be your advice in this case??

And Mam, what type of foods should I intake during menstrual cycle? I mean SALTY like butter or SWEET like chocolates..
Actually, Earlier, I was not fond of chocolates but one day I read an article showing- "Eating chocolates will provide you ease in periods.. They provide relief in cramps & salty things will make you bloat up."
Is it true?? I am asking it because I am a health-conscious person..

Lastly, I want an advice from you regarding the pain.. Yesterday was the first day of my periods and the pain was severe in the morning time.. I was literally weeping.. And till evening, pain disappeared. I felt normal, after bearing a lot of pain without taking any medicines..
So, Is there a need to take medicine now because I m normal.. The pain occurs only in the beginning time or before starting of the cycle?

Thanks a lot.. Doctor!! Nice talking to you!! You hv solved my queries :)
And Thanks for providing me the link.. You are the best and first doctor to whom I am asking questions very frankly and friendly.. Nice talking to you!!

Hello again.
Thank you for the appreciation.
Please feel free to ask me anything at any time, without hesitation.
I will always be available to help you at any point of time.
Regarding the discharge, it is normal a few days before your periods, at that time, it becomes thick and yellowish - whitish.
At any point, if it smells bad, there is redness or itching, you need to see your gynecologist and get treated for the infection.
Otherwise, just maintain good perineal hygiene.
Wash private parts with plain water, no special soap, gel, cleanser or douche.
wear clean cotton underpants and change frequently.
Avoid the area getting damp and sweaty, particularly in summer.
You may use Clotrimazole dusting powder to avoid sweating in that area.
During periods, avoid excessive salt and oil.
Chocolate is okay if taken in moderation.
Eat simple, hot, home made foods like khichdi or dal chawal and avoid eating excess butter, oil, cheese, or processed foods and soft drinks.
Drink lots of water.
There is no need to tolerate such pain, please take the medication suggested, it will not harm you if taken for few days.
Since you are normal right now, pleaes do not take any tablet.
Take it only when you are in pain.
Hope I have answered all your queries, and cleared your doubts.
Take care, dear
