Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps On Foreskin

default
Posted on Thu, 27 Aug 2015
Question: Hi doctor,
I have on the tip of my foreskin (uncircumsized male) a small cluster of a few tiny red bumps. This came a few days after unprotected sex. I also have a slight pain coming from my penis in the same area. Note that I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago, and they disappeared after a few days. Wondering if it is herpes or could be something else too?

As per details, it seems to be Herpes progenitalis. It is viral infection of skin caused by Herpes Simplex virus.it is characterised by fluid filled lesions or erosions on erythematous base associated with burning sensation or pain.
It has a self limiting course of 1-2 weeks.
In such cases, oral antivirals like Acyclovir / Valacyclovir is preferably started within 2 days of onset of rash.
It is a sexually transmitted disease whi h can be acquired through unprotected sex.
