Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Urinary Infection
Question: I HAVE BEEN HAVING RECURRENT URINARY INFECTIONS AS WELL AS PASSING MULT KIDNEY STONES.
LAST NIGHT I HAD KIDNEY PAIN AONG WITH BAD BLADDER PAIN. I KEEP URINE COLLECTING CUP FOR TO DROP OFF FOR CULTURES. MY FIRST PEE AT 3:00 I DID IN A COLLECTION CUP, I PUT IN THE REFRIGERATER AND STARTED TAKING MY RX OF LEVOFLOXACI 750 AND PHENAZOPYRIDINE. I WENT TO THE EMERENCY CLINIC TODAY AFTER I LOOKED AT MY CUP AND SAW A HUGE BALL OF WHITE MATTER (LOOKED LIKE A DOUGH BALL). THE DOCTOR DID A DIP TEST AND IT SHOWED INFECTION. SHE WANTED ME TO GO TO THE ER, I HAD A APPOINTMENT WITH THE ENDOCRONOLIGIST TODAY THAT AFTER WAITING 30 DAY I DID NOT WANT TO MISS. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS? I HAVE HAD YEARS OF URINARY INFECTIONS AND PASSING KIDNEY STONES I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS. SHOULD I GO TO THE ER???

Thanks for your query,based on the facts and photograph that you have posted it appears that you have Chronic UTI with recurrence of urinary stones.

1) Have you done blood tests to do know the calcium,phosphorus ,uric acid levels in blood ?
The white stuff that you have noticed in collection bottle is clump of infected material (Debris) and is common to get this in long standing UTI.
Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Consult qualified Urologist or Nephrologist for clinical evaluation and further treatment.
