Question: What can fibrous spots in the lungs and abdomen mean? She is a non smoker but was exposed to it in the childhood home and at work almost all her adult life. She also has been diagnosed with uncontrolled asthma. She is 73 and has always dealt with extreme stress and abusive marriages and children.

Brief Answer:
Hello dear. It may be a sequaele to old healed infections

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the details. Fibrous spots in lung can be a sequaele to some old healed infection in past. However there may be a very low possibility of any other disease like tumor. So i need to see the scans and reports. Fibrous spots in abdomen are difficult to comment without seeing the scans. Please provide the details report of scans and upload images if possible.
Thanks and regards

These spots showdown up on her most recent cat scan 10-16-16. The previous cat scan within the last 6 months showed nothing on her lungs or abdomen. This has come on very suddenly so I don't believe it could be oid scar tissue from past infections. Thank you. Linda Birri

What is a dangerously low blood oxygen level? She is currently having difficulty breathing at 91 - 92 . Had a lung biopsy on Friday. Do I need to get het to ER for oxygen?

Brief Answer:
Hello dear. Difficulty in breathing requires emergency care

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. A saturation of 91 92 is acceptable only if there is some chronic airway disease prior. However any breathlessness over it requires emergency support. As she had a lung biopsy breathlessness may be related to development of pneumothorax also.
Thanks and regards
