Question: My son was released on Monday with pulmonary embolism in both lungs. The dr started him on channel blocker. Today he has complained about mild chest pressure. Is this normal while healing from pulmonary embolisms? What symptoms should he have that would warrant going to hospital?

You are should watch for following symptoms which need emergency treatment.
1. Breathlessness on minimal exertion or at rest
2. Hemoptysis (blood in sputum)
3. Severe excruciating chest pain
4. Giddiness, extreme weakness
5. Hypoxia and hypotension.
May I know which channel blocker he is taking? Is it calcium channel blocker?
