Detailed Answer:
Hi dear XXXXXXX

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

How was your day?
Hope this message finds you in good health.

I have gone through your query in detail and understand your concern.

i dont think its due to varicose veins .. because such varicose veins generally occur in legs due to prolonged standing. its very rare to happen in hands, especially fingers.

An enlarged vein anywhere, signifies that there is some amount of inflammation or fluid retention in that area due to some reason.

if the fluid retention and swelling is all over your body and occurs frequently then usually it is due to loss of proteins from your body causing protein deficiency. This can be confirmed by checking blood and urine.

Another cause may be kidney disease that may cause reduced output and fluid retention.

rarely, these symptoms may be related to heart, that may be causing palpitations.

If you have had any kind of trauma, sprain to that particular finger, then it may cause bruising and swelling.

very rarely a bony disease underneath the swelling may be the cause of such enlarged vein and bruise.

blue upper leg can be caused by early varicose veins.

i suggest you to get a few investigations done

routine blood and urine check-up
xray of the swollen finger.
venous doppler of the blue upper leg
a md doctor opinion to rule out anything related to heart or kidneys

till then you can take anti inflammatory tablets and apply local heparin gels to reduce the bruise and swelling

get back to me with the reports.

you can share a photograph of the swollen finger and the blue upper leg with me so that i can guide you better

You should eventually get back to normal in coming few days.Nothing to worry about.

I hope your question has been answered.
