Suggest Treatment For Persistent Lower Back Pain

Question: For several weeks I have had lower back pain. The pain has now left the lower spinal area and moved to my right side (neither front or middle of back, but literally around my right side about waist high. No injury. No swelling, redness or fever. Pain is better lying down, hurts more with movement, twisting and sometimes breathing. Chest clear. Coughing hurts. Feels like a muscle strain or pain one would get after strenuous running (n/a). I am a Type 2 diabetic. Glucose levels 100-180.

I appreciate your concern


Based on descrpption it appears to be a mononeuropathy of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN), also known as meralgia paresthetica which is due to focal entrapment of this nerve
If your creatinine levels are permitting then NSAIDS WOULD be required for treatment. Pregabalin and tramadol can also help in relieving severe pain on standing or walking. It will take at least a week to get better. x rays of lumbosacral spine and pelvis including both hip joints should be taken to rule out any serious cause.
