I have anxiety, I go to the doctor often for health related things that sometimes turn out to be anxiety or things that are never identified and go away.

Currently on 1 allegra a day and hydroxyzine, sometimes take klonopin as needed.

Ok so i will try to keep this short,

Back in mid 2016 I got this weird pain while I was out at the park. It was a stinging pain like my hair got caught on a zipper or something. I was a camera bag strap so I chalked it up to that. It continued, it got worse. My skin was red and sensitive, i got some rashes not a lot. I got red bumps over my skin, only a few mostly on my forearms. It hurt to sit down on my legs. My feet were sensitive to pressure. I got a biopsy done on one of the bumps and they said it was consistent with hives. I had a elevated C-reactive protein. The dermatologist I saw suggested it was a high level of histamines causing this. They suggested a regimen of 2 x allergy meds a day. I have health anxiety and im wary of taking meds so I took one a day. It worked, I think I stopped by october? The pain went away. I started running (on a treadmill) and I was doing couch to 5k. I hit being able to run for 20 mins continuously which is pretty big for me. I had to stop after complications from a wisdom tooth extraction. I didnt start again until the last week of dec 2016 and I couldnt do it. I felt some weird tingling in my left leg, and it was pretty week. My ankle area on my legs were killing me, they were already weak spots before but they were worse. I was also sore for days after running. I did run outside though which is harder i think than a treadmill.

My leg pain continued then it went back to whole body pain, worse on the left side. First we thought it was a pinched nerve, si took like super advil. Then a week of prednisone, which i did ok on, i felt less anxious weirdly enough. Pain came back after. I almost dropped out of school because the long campus walk was killer on my legs. I got xrays and mris and nothing. Saw a physical medicine MD and he said he didnt see any neurological cause for pain/weakness, he said i had normal strength even though I felt weaker. I also went to physical therapy and they said it seemed my issue was more soft tissue stuff like maybe inflamed muscles rather than a pinched nerve. I figured it might be the hives/histamine thing again so I took allergy meds and they didnt work until i was on them for a week. During that week though I was also on klonopin for like 9 days and i was pain free then i weaned off the klono and i was good for a week or two until this past weekend. The pain came back and both times i went to campus this week my legs were killing me, not as bad as before but way worse than the week before. Doc also noticing my neck was big and I had a slightly enlarged thyroid but with no masses or nodules. TSH was normal, as were the cbc and the creatine kinease test they did. I can pull them all up if youre interested. Dr said they will monitor thyroid stuff but that i shouldn't worry. I am worried because all this stuff happened again. I suspect maybe it was because i was out drinking that weekend and i drank saturday and symptoms started sunday. It sorta seems to be calming down as of thursday but I feel whole body pain again right now my forearms hurt as do my left leg and right foot. The only exercise ive been doing is 20 pushups a day since last monday.

Last bloodwork I had was on WHITE BLOOD CELL DIFFERENTIAL, ERYTHROCYTE SEDIMENTATION RATE (ESR), GLUCOSE, THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE (TSH), CALCIUM, CREATININE, RHEUMATOID FACTOR, SERUM, CREATINE KINASE, CBC (COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT) WITH DIFFERENTIAL

Those were done 1/27/17, all within normal limits, I can give you the actual results if needed.

Anyways what should I do? Any tests I should maybe ask my dr about? Can histamines cause this sort of thing?

Can anxiety cause this? If not can anxiety/stress make it worse?

I have been gaining weight maybe its my bodys reaction to that? Im the heaviest ive ever been at 185.

Brief Answer:
Yes, stress and anxiety can make it worse.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HealthcareMagic.
I can understand your concern.

Yes, stress and anxiety can worsen these conditions.
No, stress is less likely the cause for your symptoms.

In my opinion, you should discuss about these tests--

1. Serum IgE level.
2. Skin biopsy
3. Serum CPK total (raised in muscular disorder).
4. Serum progesterone and androgen levels

Please discuss all these with your doctor.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

Wish you good health.
Thanks.

Thank you I will ask him,

in the meantime, any suggestions for what this could be? Could it be related to my thyroid?

Brief Answer:
We need to rule out muscular disorders.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
We need to rule out muscular disorders and allergic diseases.
Serum CPK will tell about muscular disorders.
Serum IgE will guide about allergic diseases.
Skin biopsy is for skin lesions.
I don't think it is related to thyroid as your recent thyroid function test is normal.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
