Brief Answer:
Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am sorry to hear about your brother's condition.

Your brother is having pancreatitis and ascites. Pancreas is an organ in the abdomen and your brother's pancreas is swollen due to inflammation.
He is also having fluid collection (ascites) in the abdomen which could be a complication of pancreatitis.

The next step to do is get the ascitic fluid analysed to find the cause. If the analysis shows it is due to pancreas involvement, then a MRCP scan should be done to see if the duct of the pancreas is leaking. If duct leak is confirmed, then a procedure called ERCP is done to bridge the leaking part.

He also needs a broad spectrum antibiotic for the infection.

You can discuss with your doctor about these tests.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
may take a few weeks for complete recovery

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You have said he is on ventilator now.
So he is having severe form of pancreatitis with its complications.
Severe form of pancreatitis can lead to multi organ dysfunction affecting kidneys, lungs etc.

The report you have attached shows a normal kidney function but a little abnormal liver function.

It is difficult to say the exact time of recovery. It may take a few weeks for complete recovery.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K
