Suggest Treatment For Painless Perianal Hematoma

default
Posted on Sat, 28 Feb 2015
Question: I think I have a perianal hematoma, but the research i've done on it says that its supposed to be painful when sitting or walking. I definitely don't feel any pain as i can barely feel it when I sit or walk. It's filled with fluid. What could it be?

Brief Answer:
Most probable pile / hemorrhoid

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Yes, the perianal hematoma is painful and rare to occur.
If there is a lump, which you feel like filled with fluid there is more possibility of this being a pile also called as hemorrhoid.
This is always painless unless thrombosis occurs or is prolapsed and entrapped to cause sudden swelling and thrombosis and / or infection.

I would advise you to consult a Surgeon to get this examined by per-rectal examination and ano-proctoscopy to get the correct diagnosis, and a plan for treatment.

Till then :
Take full diet high in fibers.
Sitz bath- in a tub with warm water.
Mild Laxative if you have constipation.
Do not apply anything locally.

I hope, this answer helps you.

How serious is the surgery and how worried should i be? I will make an appointment but i will likely have to wait a bit. I just want to get a sense of how quickly i should be moving

Brief Answer:
Not serious, get a exact diagnosis first ....

Detailed Answer:
There is no need to hurry in as such.
But get examined by a Surgeon at the earliest to get an appropriate diagnosis. This is most important as the treatment will depend upon the proper diagnosis.

This is not a big or serious surgery (if needed).
You should not worried much as per the history you have provided.
Just relax. Get an appointment a per your convenience.
