Suggest Treatment For Pain While Taking Deep Breaths

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Jun 2017
Question: I feel as if I cannot take a full, deep breath. When exercising its not painful at all and I dont think cardiac related. I had a quadruple bypass three years ago and get checked by my cardiologist every six months. I first felt this when exercising during my cardiac rehab. The discomfort is relieved by Mucinex, but I still cannot take what I think is a full deep breath; its as if fluid is in my lungs for some reason....

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
Difficulty in breathing can be due to cardiac reasons or airway causes.
Sir please tell me do you have any cough?
Any nasal blockage?
Have you got any Xray chest done?
Does the discomfort increase in effort like more on walking?
Any wheezing or sounds while breathing?
Please tell me the above details so that I can suggest you accordingly.
Take care
Thanks and regards

WHen I don't take the Mucinex, I have a dry cough.
Nasal blockages on and off my entire life: I had many allergies though less now.
Chest X ray taken two years ago when I went to a pulmonologist about this same thing and he said he found nothing.
The discomfort is only a feeling that my lungs cannot expand to their full capacity when I want more air; its like a block or limitation on my full breath.
My cardiologist says i am in excellent cardiac health and even when I had a very mild heart attack, there was virtually no or little damage. I know what cardiac blockages feel like and this is not it.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the information sir.
Please take steam inhalation everyday.
Use a fluticasone nasal spray twice daily for about 10 days.
You will definitely be benefited.
In case you still feel any discomfort, get a fresh x-ray chest and paranasal sinuses done and send me.
You are always welcome with any further questions.
All the medicines I have prescribed will be available at prescription only.
Take care
Thanks and regards
