Brief Answer:
possibilities explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX.
Such type of the pain ( don't get relief with ice , heat and tylenol and even resting. ) may be due to these possibilities , these include:
1 The infection is intradermal in one-third of cases , a few of these being a collar-stud extension from a deeper plane.
2 Two-thirds of the cases are due to infection of the fat-pad of the heel, which is situated in the subcutaneous portion of the posterior third of the sole . However , you didn't mention the exact site so very difficult to judge ,where is pain , so I write all things for your information.
Portal of entry may be a cracked overlying calooused skin ( as this may be common at 50 years age ) or from treading on a thorn or similar object.
I also mention the causes , so that you can understand the reason of pain in heel.
In my opinion at present consult an ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR and get physical examination .
3 The least possible reason of such excruciating pain ( not responding to treatment mentioned ) is deficiency of calcium in calcaneus bone of heel .
Consultation with an ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR will be fruitful for you.
Further , if any question I will reply.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
