Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Pain in left abdomen with history of IBS is correlated and just needs supportive care with antispasmodics, tylenol and diet lifestyle adjustments for that. Headache and stuffy head with sneezing indicates sinuses involvement like sinusitis and allergic rhinitis are the possibilities. Take some antihistamines and advil for the relief and see if it helps. Supportive care and home remedies like warm comforting beverages, salt water gargles and rest would help. Diet lifestyle modifications like small frequent meals, avoiding dairy foods, spicy foods, fatty foods, processed foods, canned foods, beer, soda, alcohol, smoking, tea, coffee etc will help. use yogurt and peppermint as much as possible for the relief.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

When a person has irritable bowel and get gastroenteritis can this cause the IBS to cause pain in the lower left abdomen such as what I'm having. I was told before that when I get the "stomach flu" that it takes longer for someone with ibs to recover. Is that true? I'm assuming the fever is from the "flu"

I also have dairy allergies and I had a coffee with coconut cream. I'm wondering if they gave me crème instead. If you have allergies to dairy could that kick up the pain in the intestine.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me

coffee cream and and dairy products worsen IBS symptoms and you had it in recent past might explain the recent flare. And yes stomach flu is a possibility too and that can take longer than usual to recover in IBS patients is also true. Yes fever makes stomach flu gastroenteritis more likely as well. However your sinuses symptoms might be the reason for the fever too. Any how you may need antibiotic for the fever and supportive and symptomatic care and prevention from trigger diet and lifestyle to control IBS.

I hope it helps.
