Suggest Treatment For Pain In Left Hip

default
Posted on Thu, 25 Jun 2015
Question: I would like some guidance on medications for a sprained (?) lumbar region. It "popped" when I was pushing a heavy weight up a ramp and didn't have myself properly aligned. I'm using a back brace plus hot/cold patches plus Tylenol (550 mg slow release). There seems to be gradual improvement, but pain has shifted over to the left hip. I had no shooting pains or pains down the legs. Frustration? Yes, I can't find a rheumatologist with an opening until early July. Any suggestions? (I'm 81, active, still ride a bike competitively.) My email: YYYY@YYYY .. Thank you in advance.

Brief Answer:
Follow the suggestions and you will be better.

Detailed Answer:
I warmly Welcome you!

Thanks for consulting me at virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

It's due to the muscle spasm. It will take a couple of days and will go away with the treatment options listed below.

Take Ascomp-Codeine per oral 2 capsules 3 times a day for pain, if not allergic to.
Apply topical lidocaine patch (Lidoderm 5% patch) daily. I have seen my patients getting superb results with it, and going back to gym in no time.
Apply Voltaren gel 3 times daily topically.
Apply Capsaicin 3 times daily topically on sprained area. It will give comfort to you.

This combination of treatment I have personally well tested at my clinic and is very effective.

Hope it helped you today. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.
You can also attach Lab reports and pictures directly from the question window, or by emailing it to YYYY@YYYY with the Subject as, Attention: Dr. Muhammad Hanif, and the lab reports and images will directly reach my inbox for review.
